THE BBC has announced that a popular, well-loved TV game show will be making a comeback in just a few days.

The Weakest Link will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer for a brand new series on Saturday, with Romesh Ranganathan returning as the show’s host.

Season 3 will kick off with an EastEnders special episode featuring Natalie Cassidy, Kellie Bright, Brian Conley, Ross Boatman, Danielle Harold, Tony Clay, Lorraine Stanley and Delroy Atkinson.

The castmates will battle it out, answering general knowledge questions for a chance to walk away with £50,000 or nothing.

The BBC announced the show’s revival last week as Romesh praised the old presenter, and Anne returned the praises.

Speaking about the new series, Romesh expressed: “I’m genuinely delighted to be hosting this iconic show once again. It’s the best series we’ve done so far, and although I would still say that if it wasn’t true, it is.”

The Weakest Link sees eight celebrities display their general knowledge skills to win the cash prize for their chosen charity.

One round at a time, a player will be voted The Weakest Link by other participants, and if they receive the most votes, they will be eliminated.

Many celebrity faces will be featured across the 16 new episodes including Kimberly Wyatt, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Helen Flanagan, Stacey Dooley, Gregg Wallace, Josie Gibson, Joey Essex, Charlotte Crosby, Dianne Buswell, Nikita Kanda, Ekin-su Cülcüloğlu, JB Gill, Harry Judd, Alex Jones, Danny Beard, Guz Khan, Roisin Conaty, Stephen Mangan, Bez, GK Barry, just to name a few.

Each episode has a theme, and the themes included in the new series are a Christmas special, a News & Current Affairs special, a Radio special and an Olympic & Paralympic gold medal winners special.

Head of Entertainment for the BBC Kalpna Patel-Knight spoke about the new series, explaining: “The Weakest Link returns with its quick-fire questions and competitive gameplay once again.

All of this, combined with Romesh’s razor-sharp wit, a fresh gaggle of celebrity contestants and themed episodes, means another great series lies ahead, with something for everyone to enjoy!”

The Weakest Link will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, November 18 at 17:55pm.
