The latest run featured a whopping 16 episodes with more than 100 stars signing up to take part.
It has also featured special editions whereby the celebs are grouped into categories including Eurovision specials, EastEnders specials and a newsreader edition.
The Weakest Link has found itself as a new Saturday night favourite sitting amongst other BBC heavyweights including Strictly Come Dancing, Gladiators and Michael McIntyre‘s Big Show.
In a bid to raise money for charity, the celebs have to build up a bank of cash whilst one of them is voted off each round for being the Weakest Link.
Speaking about being involved with the iconic programme, Romesh said: “It’s really a delight to be part of the BBC One Saturday night experience.
“I once again look forward to taking the credit if it goes well and blaming the format if it doesn’t.”
Pete Ogden, the Executive Producer at BBC Studios Entertainment Productions said: “We’re so excited to be back with another series of The Weakest Link to entertain the nation with on a Saturday night.
“With the amazing Romesh back at the helm, we know there will be lots of laughs. We have some fantastic special episodes lined up for this series and can’t wait to put our stellar line up of celebrity contestants to the test, for excellent causes.”
The show has secured impressive ratings with the latest run acquiring a solid average of 3.5 million viewers per week, peaking at 4.4 million.
It is expected to begin filming once again this Spring with the celebs set to be revealed closer to the time.
Some of the stars that have appeared on the game show include Kym Marsh, Bonnie Langford, Charlotte Crosby, Helen Flanagan and Ekin-Su.
